Dental veneers are custom-made, wafer-thin shells that are made to fit on the front surfaces of your teeth creating an attractive, natural look. Veneers can be used to mask a variety of imperfections or flaws including chips, stains, and teeth that are misaligned, worn down, uneven or have gaps.
Veneers are known as “Hollywood teeth” because of their popularity amongst actors and actresses. And it’s no wonder why — they can dramatically improve the appearance of a person’s teeth and smile. Not only do veneers provide excellent results for our patients, but they also are a simple and relatively fast procedure. There is no recovery time; once the veneers are placed, you will be able to show off your new and improved smile!
At Highland Oaks Family Dentistry, we offer our veneers in traditional and porcelain materials, as well as No-Prep veneers. Traditional and porcelain veneers require two visits; the first for taking impressions, which will be used at a dental lab to fabricate your custom-fit and the second for the application of the veneers.
The process of applying veneers requires a minimal amount of enamel to be removed from the front surface of the tooth, which is where the veneer will fit. We then use an etching gel to slightly roughen the surface. The veneers are then bonded using a dental-grade adhesive. After the bonding process is complete, you will have a fully functioning and beautiful smile. No-Prep veneers, on the other hand, only require one visit, and remove less enamel than traditional and porcelain.
